Our WHY …HOW…and WHAT
It happened over time. Our idea has been incubating in our minds for different reasons. We needed to be excited about it. We wanted people to have the ultimate experience. An experience that leaves them with a taste for more; a lasting memorable moment. It was important for us to channel our unbounded energy to realize a positive outcome. And did we mention that we wanted to create a fun working environment? A workplace that lies on the – not so busy – crossroad where Google’s culture meets a flea market ambient. Where highly intellectual engagement that reaches the masses intersect with humble accessible value proposition that is tailored to the individual. Everyone is welcomed. No string attached. You see where are going with that? Wait; there is more fun on the way.
So where do we start? Out of all places, in Schiphol Airport on the suburb of Amsterdam. Waiting for a flight to Miami and enjoying coffee together. Simply two love birds on steroids. Surely we would not have made it to the Olympics in this state (of mind…) but this is another story all together.
It was nothing more than a piece of napkin and leaking ink pen. Symbols and letters transformed into ideas. The essences of these ideas were simple. Together, in harmonious way, they formed the emerged answers to our vital questions: WHY …HOW…and WHAT
We first wanted to establish why? Why we want to develop Wellennium? (at that moment we didn’t have a name in mind, yet…). We wanted to explore what would be a meaningful purpose of working hard, risking our time and resources, and spending many sleepless nights; at least at the early stages of our entrepreneurial expedition. Why it would exist? What will protect us from becoming part of sad business failure statistics? What is the core belief of our culture and business practices that will deliver relevant value to all o our STAKEHOLDERS; not to be confused with STOCKHODLERS, who are individuals or parties that have a vested financial interest in the success of a company.
Money might have been a fair reason and a good starting point. But it took us not far. It was distance from our thoughts as it was eclipsed by the bigger picture. The images and voices of giving. We wanted to combine our passion, knowledge, and collective set of expertise, to deliver simply an amazing experience. We didn’t sharpen our pencils and looked at the bottom line. Instead we kept our eyes up high, and sharpened our minds to reach the top line. The single reason that kept jumping at the start of our journey, morphed into a compelling reason that eventually became our slogan. We finally realized our WHY. The simplicity of the reason with the complexity of the delivery. We aspired to make a positive impact on people’s lives. We wanted to help as many as people as we could to live LIFE WORTH LIVINGTM .
Now that we were satisfied with our initial question, we directed our attention to the HOW. We wanted to make sense with the new venture. We wondered; how we are going to fulfill the promise of our core belief? Luckily, finding the how was just matter of late night’s intellectual acrobatics flavored with early morning creative thinking, daily sensible actions, and a great research. And the answer didn’t wait to come. It was suddenly very clear.
In order to make progress in life, ,one must have a goal, a roadmap to reach the goal, motivation to endure the journey, the supportive resources and the intrinsic set of competencies to reach their desired goals. We left the decision about the goal to you. Because you eventually will know the best what is good for you. We trusted the responsibility educate you about the availability and accessibility to the right resources to the Do It Yourself Improvement books. We handed over selection of the right road map to the plethora of coaches and “Wonna Bees” (no pan intended….) gurus. And we never underestimated the motivational speakers who may drain your pocket well before they filled up your determination. So we left with your set of competencies.
We have realized that like a diet, everyone can offer you one. They even show you step by step what do to do. But are you able to follow the instructions? We wanted to enable people to measure their tool box of competencies and realize if they have set the goal too high or their tool box is limited with its capacity to take them through the transformational process and reach the finish line. We wanted you to be able to measure your wellbeing. We wanted to be next to you as develop your individually plan to improve and sustain your well being. We wanted to create broad range of educational programs interweave with great wellness related products. And this was the Eureka moments for us; the HOW.
Without wasting time, we shifted gears (and direction…) and began the tedious work of searching for our WHAT. It was not an easy undertaking. We need to carefully craft our thoughts into practical, measured, and achievable set of tasks. We wondered what our organization and business venture will look like. What it will do to fulfill our core belief? How are we going to deliver value to our stakeholders? So, are you ready to find out? We too.
